Don’t speak of this day
And the immaturity we displayed
The tag team circle and the little mind games
That forced me once again to go away

This dam can be broken down
With fragmented pieces on the ground
And what you will hear is only one sound
As I back up and over this flashy mound

Arms outstretched from someone that cares
Someone that holds the knowledge and bears
The keys to disable shells and dry tears
Hidden behind an aged face that she wears

Innocence in the room slowly corrupted
A small child’s heart suddenly abducted
A box of old memories unwillingly disrupted
And I bear witness to this masquerade of puppets

So many years wasted feeling alone
So many cries unanswered cause no one is home
A young man with an aged face and aching bones
Who wears the scent of agony like cheap cologne

Not feeling worse but not feeling better
Hearts a little harder, my eyes a little wetter
Too many distractions, a missed love letter
I would be so much happier if I could forget her

Here comes another long session
Of waiting and hoping and certain regression
Back to the shady mess of emotions, kept guessing
Sooner or later I will learn my lesson

Surprisingly hollow, little pain felt inside
Flashed through me quickly,
not enough time to cry
It felt like the end but I didn’t die
I couldn’t bear to look when I told you goodbye

So this is the end
