A flickering burning candle light
Hope to get him through the night
A bitter slice of broken hope
A forgotten past, his heart cant cope
A small lost boy out in the rain
A reflection of inner, ancient pain
Burdened down so strong, so long
There is no question that he has been wronged
A memory too much to bear
Believing that no one cares out there
A show of affection brings only fear
The helpful words he cannot hear
Loved ones so easily come and go
A relinquished need he could not show
And once again left all to blame
The hidden lines spotted within this game
The flame which helped him through is black
Has flickered through and cant come back
And because he’s familiar with this pain
He prepares to go through it once again
