Sam Miserendino is responsible for the wildly creative masterpiece PRINCE OF PIECES. I had the great fortune of meeting Sam at ROCK AND SHOCK October 2015 where he was promoting his new graphic novel Prince Of Pieces. The concept was daring and imaginative and nothing short of true horror. It fell in nicely with the atmosphere of the rock and shock horror community. I spent a little time talking with Sam about his new book and he is one of the nicest people I have met thus far at any convention. We stayed in touch over the next year until it came time for Rock And Shock 2016. And true to form he showed up with another great installment in his arsenal. If you give a bunny a beer. This being a friend of Sam and a fan of his work immediately sparked my interest. I headed over to his booth and picked up my copy of the book which included a nice poster. Sam signed my book and seeing Sam was definitely the highlight of my visit to Rock And Shock 2016.
A few days later I sat down to read his new book If you give a bunny a beer. The book is very easy to read and understand as it is definitely presented in a “children’s book way” I found the book to be very funny and also very touching. I think what Sam has done here is great. The book is executed flawlessly and the illustrations done by
Mike Odum are phenomenal.

Such a great big bark

Hopeless little flowers

Hateful 16 year old boy

Creepy little bed bugs
Crawling on my skin
Faithless little nuns and priests
Living in there sin

Tiny little pile of dirt
Walked over on the ground
Showy little teenage girl
Weighing just one tiny pound

Sloppy little babies
Spilling every meal
Tiny little furry squirrel
Tiny little squeal

Senseless little meaning
All of this has had
Such a small effect it’s had
Not enough to make me mad

Tiny little minnows
Swimming in a stream
Nothing is ever as it seems
Life is but a dream

I stepped into a situation
I knew not how to deal
With far to many emotions
Some of which weren’t real

But something always felt so good
Just looking in your eyes
I have so much respect for you
Though i seem to make you cry

You push me back so very hard
But i only came on stronger
Until you could no long breathe

But i couldn’t let you go
For sure i don’t know why
So two more times i looked for love
I knew i had to try

My my had not frown enough
To see all that was wrong
And eventually we split apart
And its has since been very long

I survived and got my wish
A beautiful girl to call my own
She liked me very much
And her attraction was always shown

So many years later
Once my life was carved in stone
She disappeared from me all at once
And now i’m all alone

Without even looking
She came up clear to me
The one that melts me with her eyes
we were both surprised

I had to let her know
That i was still around
I had to try to talk to her
And prove that i’m on steady ground

She talked to me
And then we met
And all the things I’d soon forget
Came rushing back to me

But with a grown up clarity

And here is where i stand
I want to be your friend
I want to make you happy
And know you think of me

Cannot see there future past

What will and should not last

Heartache felt by lovers
Lost each other somehow in the rain
Proving true positions cannot be revealed
A true reflection of inner pain

Tears display the emptiness inside
A fear of yours to come
Hoping for the best with a light that’s inside, but
Worried they won’t find anyone

Cleansed wounds undressed begin to regress
Unprotected progress forgotten by fear
Praying for someone to ease the pain
Wishing you could hold someone near

Realizing all you can do is hope
Keep a strong heart, stand your ground
Have faith in who you are
Even when there is no one around

I know your in pain, I can see it in your eyes
A lot can be misunderstood
with all the commotion, but it is nothing to be feared
